District Three

Districts are geographical groupings of clubs, which consist of a Governor, Board of Directors and Committee Chairs. The structure is designed to provide an effective conduit to the International Board of Directors. The organizational plan of the district parallels that of the international organization. District officers and committee chairs serve a 2-yr term.
The Charlotte club is located in DISTRICT THREE, which comprise the states of NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, GEORGIA and FLORIDA.

Our service projects are based on meeting the unique needs of our communities. Each Altrusa club is encouraged to provide services that are unmet in our communities. Consequently, there are a wide variety of projects offered throughout District Three. 

Altrusa also promotes leadership abilities of our youth in ages 12 – 25 by sponsoring an ASTRA Club. The purpose of ASTRA is to promote personal development, career planning and leadership training.

District Three also has its own non-profit organization, District Three Foundation. A member of our club has served as a Board Member and as an Officer. The Foundation works similarly to the International Foundation, but with less funds and specific donation areas. Because it’s a non-profit organization, donations are tax-deductible.

The District Three Altrusa International District Three 59th Conference will be held from April 19 - 21, 2012 in Sandy Springs, Georgia at the Hilton Suites Atlanta Perimeter hotel.
